Meat

There’s a reason beef is one of the most popular meats in the world – it’s delicious! In prehistoric times, humankind hunted aurochs and later domesticated them. Since that time, numerous breeds of cattle have been bred specifically for the quality or quantity of their meat.

Today, beef is the third most widely consumed meat in the world, after pork and poultry. As of 2018, the United States, Brazil, and China were the largest producers of beef.

What makes beef so special? Well first off, it’s high in protein (about 27 percent). That means you’ll get all the amino acids your body needs to function properly – something that can be hard to find elsewhere in such high levels. Secondarily, Beef contains important minerals like zinc and iron which are crucial for overall health.
